Choral Conducting

Building upon the pedagogical foundations established by Kodály and the strong choral traditions of Hungary, Gergely Kaposi’s course will work to prepare the conductor for the rigorous demands that are so often neglected by most conducting schools. Participants will study the chorus as an instrument, focusing on building, perfecting, and tuning, focusing on the physical health of the body and choral singing technique. Understanding will be gained about the essence of working with a chorus, how much to expect from members, and what the choir should expect from the conductor. Further topics will cover developing rehearsal technique and choral repertoire.
